Hosting a Mass Campaign
The time is now for the world to know the power of the cross and the person of God our Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus, and our Friend and Comforter the Holy Spirit.
Without God, we can do nothing, but without us, He will do nothing. My earnest prayer and heartfelt expectation is that the Lord will use us as awesome catalysts to help plan a community or citywide crusade where we are, geared towards igniting a passion for soul-wining in the Christian community, resulting in a flood of thousands of salvations for those who are perishing.
Throughout the year on a daily basis, church evangelism must continue until Jesus comes. What I am challenging you to organize and execute is a mass crusade whereby at least once a year or every two years, the Gospel may shake the city at large.
The Lord wants to use you as a catalyst
You may be the one that the Lord uses to share this vision and unite the Christian community in your city. Be courageous and determined in your vision, and let no one discourage you. This vision is from the Lord, be sensitive to His timing, but start planning now. There are multitudes in your city that are lost in sin and despair, and through your obedience, many of them will find salvation. For a successful campaign, follow the model provided in this summary.
My prayers are with you and for you. Remember, if God is for you, who can be against you? Be a history-maker in your city and in the kingdom, by working towards and facilitating this crusade.
Steps in organizing a Mass Campaign
Basic Principles
- Hear from the Lord, where to go (area) and what to do (vision)
Acts 13:2: “As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
- The Lord will speak to you regarding the vision He has for you and your city.
- Write the vision down and formulate an evangelism strategy
Habakkuk 2:2-3 – “Then the Lord said to me, “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets (paper) that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time (God’s timing); but at the end it will speak and it will not lie. Though it tarries (takes time), wait for it (be patient); Because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (It will happen).”
This will include:
- Timing / date
- May take 6 months to 1 year to plan
- You may even have a fixed yearly crusade, which grows each year in size and influence.
- Size: The Lord can do wonders with size, yet most often, the budget determines the size. Generally, the larger the budget, the larger the crusade.
- Influence and impact: Whom are you targeting? You need to determine your outreach target groups i.e. schools, prostitutes, etc.
- Length of the Campaign:
- How many days do you believe it will take to achieve your objective? An average campaign may last up to a month or two and culminate with a large crusade meeting lasting:
- 3-4 days;
- 4-7 days;
- 7-14 days and longer.
- If you can sustain your campaign for a long period (provided there is a human work force to do the work, enthusiasm in the community towards the campaign and the finances to do the work) then go for it.
- Participation: Include a list of all those whom you envisage being involved. E.g. churches, pastors and leaders, schools, etc.
- Share the vision with your church/leadership
Share your heart and the vision you have for the community/city to host a major Gospel Campaign with your senior pastor and close leaders. If they support it, then you know that they have a heart for the lost. If they start giving you reasons why not, then you have the full right to gain other support. Remember, your pastor is not the head of the Church. Jesus is, and He said to go and preach the Gospel and disciple nations.
The Lord wants there to be more Christians in your community than sinners. In fact, He wants your whole city saved. Therefore, it is time for the pastors and leaders to stand up and support these kinds of Gospel Campaign initiatives.
Take courage my friend, plan this event and go for it. There will be hundreds, thousands, even hundreds of thousands and millions who will thank you one day in Heaven for having had the boldness to stand up to host this campaign.
Proverbs 11:14 “…in the multitude of counselors, there is safety.”
Now, I’m not saying we must be loose cannons, but rather cannon-balls for the Lord.
Get advice and have a Team around you that is committed to the success of this Campaign.
Proverbs 20:18: “Plans are established by counsel; by wise counsel wage war.”
If possible, get the blessing from your local church. Listen to their objections and if they are valid, then work through them, yet if not, you need to be bold to go ahead anyway. Rather be a rebel with a cause. (The cause of Christ)
We have planned, organized and worked with people who sometimes had no support from their own church, but many other churches got involved, and thousands were saved.
Church pastors with this negative philosophy need prayer and encouragement to change.
- Prepare a budget for the crusade
This needs to be a detailed budget. For the crusade to take place, it is necessary for the entire budget to be covered. You may be wise to establish a Fundraising Committee. Their responsibility will be to help raise the finances for the crusade and manage the expenses. Place mature business leaders on this committee who can use their business influence to raise the finances from other business leaders and their acumen to manage the finances wisely.
Luke 14:28 – “For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it.
29 Lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,
30 saying, “This man began to build and was not able to finish.”
31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.”
Be realistic yet faith filled when setting your budget. Consider which people to get financially involved. Attempt to pay for the campaign before it even starts. I agree in taking up offerings in Christian events, but there should not be a heavy burden at this Salvation crusade, to pay for the budget, from the people that you are trying to reach.
Your budgets and size of your Campaigns will increase in size, as you are faithful.
- Approach and Give Save The World Foundation a proposal
- Set your vision down.
- Have a proposed budget and a commitment in place.
- Show your evangelistic strategy for the campaign.
- Indicate the level of church participation.
Before doing any organizing, please first make sure that we are available for the campaign. If we agree and you can meet the requirements of the campaign, then you can organize the next step which is to share the vision with leaders and pastors and organize a Crusade Launch Function.
At the Crusade Launch Function, see if Jarrod Davidoff or a Save the World Foundation Crusade Director is available to address the leaders and share their thoughts and commitment towards the crusade.
If the Evangelist is able to work with you on the crusade, then go and see them personally – either the Evangelist or Crusade Director, or both.
- Sharing Your Vision with the City’s Main Leaders
- Do this one-on-one.
- Get the support of an influential Christian leader in the community who is totally committed and shares in the vision of the crusade,
- Both of you must personally go and share the vision with the “spiritual leaders of the city”, those senior pastors and ministers whom the Lord has entrusted with the spiritual responsibility for the city.
- Get them to commit, with their churches, in helping to organize and plan for a citywide campaign and help to contribute financially towards it.
- Share with all “leaders” and if time allows, go and visit every potential church personally, and share the commitment of the “senior leaders”. When they see the “senior leaders” commitment, they should want to join as well.
- Get all their contact details and share with them the planned combined Crusade Committee Meeting, providing them with a set date. Make it about 1 or 2 months in advance so that it can be a priority date in their calendar. A high percentage of the leaders and pastors should attend .Those that may have an emergency to attend to must send a replacement associate. Send out minutes of the meeting.
- At this first meeting, share with them the plan to host Evangelist Jarrod Davidoff. Give each pastor brochures, DVD’s, etc so that they will be familiar with his ministry.
* Pre-book a neutral venue in the city for a Campaign Launch Function.
- Inform with them that the Evangelist or Crusade Director or both will be at that breakfast to share with the leaders.
This is for all the Christian leaders and pastors that you anticipate will be actively involved in the aspects of the Crusade.
